I joined this forum a couple years ago, posted some poetry, then fell off the face of the earth for a little while.
I was writing on my typewriter last night and got a memory of a poem I once wrote that began to weave into the writing I was doing...I couldn't remember it anymore...
I threw away all the writing I ever created, all the journals I ever had since I was 6 years old about 2 years ago...actually I did this twice. I threw away all my work, then I made some more work and threw that all away too...I think I'm over the phase now and have been able to find some of my past writings in old e-mails and in the drawers of my old desk back home in western NY.
I was rummaging through some papers I had of old e-mails my mom had printed out from letters I had sent her of my poetry.
The poem I wanted wasn't there. I used to memorize much of my poetry, so it isn't all gone, but that one I never got down completely, so it began to rot and decompose into the soil of my mind.
As I returned the papers back to the box from which they came I remember being part of a poetry forum some three years or so ago...I could only vaguely remember it's name and I had no idea what my username and password were, but I gave it a shot and pieced it all together by searching a couple forums I thought it could be, remembering that there was light blue in it's layout and I searched for my poem by putting fragments of words in the search engine and whaddya know...Lind:SAY popped up...
Sorry for the diatribe!
I am excited to be back and feel inspired to read and post work.

Hi Lindsay

Very nice to read your story and see you back in the saddle, so to speak!

Wow, you got rid of all your poetry?  Ack, I don't think I could do that.  Well, here's to building the future, thanks for finding us, I look forward to reading your stuff, I see you've posted a long one up there, I shall try and get to that at some point, a bit of a time crunch in my life right now.

Cheers

W

Hi, Lindsay. Sounds like a cool and revolutionary act to me. I might get around to it myself one of these days. Glad to see you here anyway.

Steve.
