With passive hand about your waist,
And the other not near as chaste,
Let us dare not this moment waste
As passions beg that we make haste!

Tonight is ours as an ardent pair,
And as I undo your flowing hair
It falls free in the cool, night air--
Golden tresses, from fair to fair.

I am filled with expectant delight
To make torrid love to you this night
Once Cupid’s arrow takes its flight--
Nothing halts it, not might or right.

And as our coupled fates suggest,
It's time to build our lovers' nest.
For desire's strength does attest
That love is stronger than any test.

Goeszon,

Who is the wise man, or woman, who utttered this profound truth? I happen to believe that the first two can be contained in the last purpose--that having someone to love is both something for someone to do and to have to look forward to. Thanks for sharing this maxim.

Nguyen... I would have listed the author had there been one to honor... sometimes I wish I were a great thinker... or writer or vice-versa... I really think for the moment that (writers) are the cream of the crop, it takes genius to write... I have no training in proper grammar which I am not proud of etc but I do write and sometimes I amuse myself as though someone else was pushing the pen etc a writers block is interesting too when we are dry... (THAT) is scary...
Your wonderful piece reminded me of this maxim... by the way I am a prior service Marine who saw combat for the south from 1966 thru 1968 today I have friends who live in Ha Noi... when I see your name I am reminded of that service, I also realize that there is still a division in some circles but thank God that the killing has stopped Viet nam has a ancient history of war... read my poem here called Rice Bowl of Asia-67.
